LGBTQ Youth Space

The LGBTQ Youth Space is a safe and confidential place for youth and young adults ages 13-25 to develop their sexual and gender identities and empower them to realize their potential as valuable members of the community. This drop-in center for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning youth and allies is located in downtown San Jose close to public transportation.

The LGBTQ Youth Space is a program of Family & Children Services.

Hang out in a safe space for youth! Our drop-in space is open Monday - Friday from 3-9pm and is open to people ages 13-25. offers many volunteer opportunities, support groups, movie nights, activism opportunities, awesome dances, discussion groups, potlucks, game nights, and leadership development. Amenities at the Youth Space include video games, internet access, safe-sex supplies, and free snacks. No registration necessary - just come hang out with us!

 If you can't make it to the Youth Space, you can still chat with us! Join us on our website every Tuesday from 8:30pm-10pm to chat online in a safe and fun environment! Check out our counseling services!

The LGBTQ Youth Space offers free counseling to youth ages 16-25. Counseling is confidential & offered in English, Spanish, and American Sign Language.

We can provide psychiatric services as well as connections to local resources (housing, food, healthcare, etc.).

No appointment? No problem! Just come by for drop-in counseling hours from 5pm-7pm every Tuesday.
