The event will take place in the Historic Rosemary District of Sarasota, Florida from May 20th - 22nd, 2011. Aligned with ceremonies across the nation, the festival’s mission is to raise awareness about lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) civil rights on state and federal levels. Art Exhibit
Opening on the eve of the festival, the Harvey Milk Festival Art Exhibit will remain open for viewing throughout the event. Artwork will also be featured on the festival website. We will be showcasing our community’s exceptional artistic talent with a collection of work focusing on Harvey Milk and equality. Artists will present their own interpretations of Harvey Milk as an icon for the civil rights movement, creating pieces based on the theme of equality. All visual arts mediums accepted.
