The bywater Bed & Breakfast in New Orleans is located in a private home in a traditional late Victorian "double shotgun" cottage furnished with contemporary and antique furniture and the owner's collection of 20th centry Louisiana folk art. It is located just a short distance from the French Quarter and other tourist attractions. The Faubourg Marigny neighborhood is nearby; music clubs, galleries, artists' studios, and restaurants are spread throughout Bywater and the Marigny.
The B&B's facilities include four guest rooms (2 with king, 1 with double, and 1 with twin beds). Each has an armoire, dresser, chair, bedside tables and lamps, a sink and mirrored medicine cabinet, hair dryer, alarm clock/radio, and ceiling fan. There is central air conditioning and heat throughout the house. Guests are welcome to use the parlors TV room, library, porches, and patio. We keep notebooks describing local events and menues for many New Orleans restaurants. Smoking is possible only on the porches and patio--nowhere in the house.
We serve a continental brreakfast, with coffee and tea available at any time. our neighborhood is an urbanm multi-ethnic, working-class environment that recently received the distinction of qualifying as a National Historic District. There is adequate street parking and cabs come quickly.
