Founded in 1975, DC Capital Pride is the annual celebration of the LGBT community in the Nation’s capital. Traditionally held the over the first two weeks in June each year, the Capital Pride program serves residents and visitors to the Washington DC metropolitan area. Capital Pride works to produce a diverse programming line-up each year to celebrate the heritage and lives of the LGBT community and its allies. It is produced by the Capital Pride Alliance, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
The 37th annual Capital Pride celebration will take place May 30 – June 10, 2012.
Mission Statement:
The Capital Pride Alliance, through its diverse programming and stewardship of GLBT organizations and events, specifically year-round Pride festivities in Washington, DC, will serve to celebrate, motivate, and support our diverse communities in order to grow and protect our legacy for future generations.
