The Loralei Bed and Breakfast is a beautiful three-story Victorian home situated on sycamore-lined streets in the historic neighborhood of Ditmas Park in Brooklyn, one of the largest collections of Victorian homes in the United States. When guests visit the Loralei for the first time, they cannot believe that such a private enclave of Victorian life exists within New York City.
The long-time owners, Lance and Rob have renovated and restored Loralei house to exquisite perfection from the wraparound porch to the parlor sitting room and dining room filled with beautifully appointed furniture and accented with beveled glass French doors. Furnishings are both elegant and welcoming as well as a delight to the eye.
Loralei accommodations are two elegantly appointed suites, The Gramercy and The Sutton.
A delicious expanded continental breakfast is set up daily in the Loralei dining room.
There is a lot to do around Brooklyn. Visit Prospect Park, the world-class Brooklyn Museum and the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. For a trip back in time, a stroll around Ditmas Park will have you yearning for a horse and carriage. The beauty of this Victorian enclave and the nearness of Manhattan will have you believing you have entered a magical world, that you might never want to leave. Manhattan may seem a world away from the Victorian charm of this neighborhood but it is only a thirty minute subway ride away. This is a great way to thoroughly enjoy New York City using this bed and breakfast as a home base and a relaxing retreat after a day in the city.
