When clients enter into the therapeutic process willing to work, therapy can be nothing short of life changing. Therapy can provide clients with the tools to change their perspective, improve their thought and communication patterns, and increase their level of interpersonal intimacy. Most importantly, therapy gives clients the opportunity to be seen and heard in a safe, accepting environment.

I am a low-fee Marriage and Family Therapist Registered Intern, supervised by Stacy-Colleen Nameth, LCSW (LCS 20894). I provide psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and families. As a therapist, I take an active role in listening, empowering, and supporting my client’s subjective experience. I place great importance on authenticity, and infuse humor into my therapeutic style. I view the client-therapist relationship as collaborative. Together, my clients and I investigate ideas that may be leaving them stuck in dysfunctional patterns. I believe self-awareness and personal responsibility are paramount to living a functional and fulfilling life. Undoubtedly, cultural influences such as gender roles and minority stereotypes can create barriers in our lives. I encourage clients to foster a strong sense of self, trust in self, and belief in freedom of choice, despite barriers. Each client has his or her own goals when they enter therapy. My job as a therapist is to guide the client toward achieving these goals, promoting the awareness, honesty, and self-love needed to work through obstacles along the way.

Therapeutic services provided to clients are created on a case-by-case basis. I consider “what works” for each client based on the client’s personal history, goals, and communication style.
