Martial Arts and Self Defense for the LGBT Community!
Established 1998 in San Francisco Triangle Martial Arts Association, (TMAA) is a 501(c)(3) international non profit corporation founded in San Francisco in November of 1998 following the hate crime murder of gay Wyoming student Matthew Shepard.
We provide full courses in martial arts training, pre-scheduled self-defense seminars for individuals and groups, lectures, demonstrations, community outreach activities and social opportunities for the Lesbian, Gay Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning and allies while our programs are open and welcoming to all.
TMAA offers individual membership for complete novices through experienced black belt or equivalent students, with regular martial arts classes, seminars and international sporting events.
TMAA also seeks quality and experienced martial artists around the world to help us bring marital arts and self-defense training to the LGBTQQI community worldwide.
We are a multi-disciplinary organization welcoming martial artists of all experience levels, from all styles, schools and backgrounds. All instructors volunteer their time while students and seminar participants pay for their instruction to help TMAA expand and reach other communities around the world.
