The Metro Centre Ltd is conducting ‘Youth Chances’ over 5 years up to June 2015. The project is funded by the Big Research arm of the Big Lottery. Its mission is to improve the life chances of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) 16-25 year-olds across England.
Youth Chances will deliver 3 core outcomes:-
- In June 2013 and June 2015 we will disseminate systematic and robust evidence on the needs of LGBTQ young people in England, attained through a study of 15,000 LGBTQ 16-25 year olds.
- By June 2015 we will be able to show change in the practice of 50 service providers across England, who will be able to develop their provision through the recommendations of the research.
- By June 2015 we will be able to show change in the policy of 50 commissioners across England, who will be able to develop their policies through the recommendations of the study.
This is an ambitious, exciting and strategically important project, with the capacity to produce vital evidence at a crucial time.
