AIDS New Brunswick

AIDS New Brunswick

AIDS New Brunswick/SIDA Nouveau-Brunswick Inc.is a community based non-profit organization. It was established in 1986 out of a concern for HIVAIDS-related issues and in recognition that New Brunswick is not immune to the effects of this virus.

Initially, AIDS New Brunswick/SIDA Nouveau-Brunswick Inc. was comprised solely of a volunteer Board of Directors who met to define goals and develop a strategy. In July of 1987 funding was received from the Federal Department of Health and Welfare. This allowed for the hiring of a staff person and the implementation of prevention, education, and support programs. The Provincial Department of Health and Community Services provided space that allowed for the establishment of an office.
