Brannan Cottage Inn

Brannan Cottage Inn, in Calistoga, California is a charming Victorian building in the heart of the Napa Valley wine country. Since 2004 we've hosted visitors from all over the world.

The original five-room cottage was built in 1860 as part of Sam Brannan's original Calistoga Hot Springs Resort. Of the 25 original cottages, it is the only one remaining on its original site. Built in the Greek Revival architecture style, it is characterized by a gabled roof, a large arch-enclosed wrap-around porch, and intricate gingerbread, gable-board and scalloped ridge cresting.

Since the end of the resort in the late 1800s, the building has been used as a private residence, a rooming house, an apartment building, and finally as a bed and breakfast for the past 26 years. Because of its rich history, the Inn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Since Doug and Judy Cook took over, they have created a more sophisticated breakfast and added a Friday evening wine and hors d' oeuvres event on the patio with local wineries pouring their finest liquid products. Early risers appreciate the freshly brewed coffee and tea beginning at 7 a.m., and a buffet of fresh fruit, assorted juices, home baked goods, cereal, granola and yogurt soon follow. The coffee comes from the local Calistoga Roastery and is the Inn's own blend. A hot breakfast entree is served from approximately 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the dining room or on the spacious patio in warmer months. The delicious menu could include the Baked Egg Breakfast, which is a casserole of bacon, cheese, hash browns, cream, onions and red pepper. Favorite sweets on the menu include blueberry coffee cake or Judy's Banana Bread.
