Set on a granite ledge rising from the sea and surrounded by flower gardens, fresh salt air, and picturesque Maine coastline. The Craignair Inn by the Sea was built in 1928 to house workers from the nearby quarries. Much of that history is still visible on Clark Island and in the neighboring village.
The Inn has 16 guest rooms of all shapes, sizes, and prices. If you're looking for a single bed for a night, or a oceanfront private balcony for the week, we've got it and everything in between. All rooms include complimentary made from scratch breakfast (think: wild Maine blueberry pancakes!), WiFi, parking, and access to one of the most popular nature preserves in the Midcoast region. Clark Island - managed by the Maine Coast Heritage Trust offers year-round hiking trails, summer swimming holes, kayak access, and beach access within steps from the Inn.
You'll also be able to stay close by for dinner in our in-house Causeway Restaurant, which offers world class cuisine prepared carefully and creatively by our chef showcasing over 40 years of experience cooking all over the world. You won't want to miss this!
