We don't believe in constructing a "cookie cutter" daily itinerary which attempts to give everybody a trip that suits the masses. Instead, we want help our travelers have the time of their lives. To achieve this, we understand that everyone is different and that our leaders are there armed with tons of amazing daily options to ensure our guests see and do everything that our amazing destinations have to offer. The only structured itinerary is one that outlines what days and times we travel to a new destination; but once we have arrived at the next amazing spot, you are free to do as you choose. Without a set daily plan, you can relax and do what you want, when you want. Want to swim with sharks, bungee jump, visit temples, and SCUBA dive? Awesome! Want to spend a few days soaking up sun on the perfect white sand beach? Awesome! Nobody's going to tell you that you've got an 8am quilt-making class... unless you really want that of course! The potential for good times is limitless (and never lacking). The Detours leaders are always involved with the group, and looking to inject fun and inspiring elements into every step of the adventure trip. Our group trip leaders know the country and our destinations so intricately that we’ll show you the ins and outs and help you discover a trip that is far beyond your greatest expectations.

I have come to the end of 12 amazing days with Detours around Costa Rica - I met 12 strangers on day 1 and left with some very good friendships and basic plans in place for one or two of them to visit me in Scotland.
This is a stunning country with tonnes to do and pushes your mental and physical barriers. (rafting, canyoning etc) but also some incredible wildlife, scenery and very welcoming people.
Dan and Miles bend over backwards to make this holiday worthwhile. When dumbo here, booked his flight for 1 day later than he thought he had, Dan moved mountains to get my ground transport sorted within 10 minutes and with only 1 hour's notice. Miles is super-prompt on answering his messages too!
There were so many highlights - they are too many to mention!
Bring on Greece and Thailand. Hmmm ... a Detours Scotland trip would be a great idea - need any local knowledge and help setting that one up??
