This Asheville area inn is located in the heart of downtown Waynesville, North Carolina, the “Gateway to the Smokies,” just one block from one of the most charming NC mountain towns offering antique shops, art galleries, crafts, gifts, furniture, clothing, shoes, coffee shops and restaurants. There are festivals, parades, performances and other community events held in downtown Waynesville throughout the year.

Herren House combines Victorian charm with a modern, uncluttered and clean elegance, for visitors needing a break from a more hectic pace. This unique 19th century boarding house has been completely restored and offers all updated conveniences that will make your stay extremely comfortable and refreshing. The inn is pet-friendly and the owners have a much-loved and amiable yellow Labrador, Dusty.  The two lower level  rooms are available for dogs up to 50lbs with room for a crate.  A large, flat parking lot also welcomes motorcycle enthusiasts, with plenty of storage for bicycles and hiking gear.

Breakfast at Herren House is an excellent way to start the day.  The unmistakable aroma of coffee brewing greets you in the morning with fresh orange juice, followed by seasonal fruit that wakes up your taste buds!  Homemade muffins or scones, warm from the oven, will melt in your mouth and an entrée like a Mediterranean frittata with applewood smoked bacon will keep you going past lunch time.

A unique feature of Herren House is its affordable restaurant open to guests and the public most of the year. Herren House Restaurant serves a la carte lunches Thursday, Friday and Saturday and can accommodate wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, birthday and anniversary parties, fundraising events, corporate meetings, bridal and baby showers, reunions and retreats.  In the warm spring, summer and fall months guests can enjoy the beautiful garden area with its gazebo and patio.
