As a nationally certified counselor who is licensed in California as both a Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, I am trained and qualified to deal with a wide range of issues that affect one's relationship with self and others. I have special training in assisting individuals, couples and families to adjust to change and to reclaim their lives following a trauma or unexpected event whether the trauma is recent or occurred many years ago. Reclaiming your life also involves imagining and taking action on what comes next so I look to you to define how life would look at its most optimum and focus on goals that will bring that vision into being.

What I Believe: I believe that people possess an amazing capacity for resilience, creativity, courage and caring and that sometimes we become disconnected from these qualities and the truth about who we are. I believe that therapy can help restore these connections and tap these resources, and that the process doesn’t have to take a long time.

My approach: In general, I work within a tradition known as existential therapy that focuses on how each of us interprets the events and relationships of our life and how that system of interpretations influences our capacity for action, however I use a variety of approaches to help you achieve your goals based on your preferences for therapy, your cultural preferences and your preferred learning style. I am Certified in two evidence based approaches to trauma: Eye Movement Desensitization Therapy (EMDR) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).  I also have special training in an evidence based approach for couples known as Integrative Behavioral CoupleTherapy (IBCT).
