Pride Films and Plays

Pride Films and Plays develops new LGBT writing for the stage and screen through contests, classes, readings of both plays and screenplays, and fully staged plays. Plans will be upcoming for film production as well. Based in Chicago, PFP links an international network of writers working on LGBT themed material important to the community and essential viewing for our friends and family, neighbors, and co-workers.

Our current contests include the Great Gay Screenplay Contest which accepts entries in spring, Women's Work for plays and screenplays by women with lesbian themes, and the Great Gay Play and Musical Contest.

We also premiere new works for Chicago audiences, and revive classic LGBT works that have contemporary relevance.
