Located in a small western town just south of the Grand Canyon National Park, the Red Garter B&B Inn has become a landmark as a classic roadside attraction on historic Route 66. Over the past 17 years it has gained a reputation as a comfortable place to stay with a great breakfast in the bakery downstairs.
Visitors from Europe love the authentic late 1800's atmosphere of this restored saloon and bordello while they visit the Grand Canyon. Americans revisiting the days of their family's travels on Route 66 find the Red Garter to be an interesting stop for gifts and bakery goods. The twelve-foot high ceilings and antique furnishings capture the 1890's atmosphere without giving up the comfort and security expected by today's traveler.
Within an hour's drive see Sedona, the ghost town Jerome and the Grand Canyon area. A variety of restaurants, shops, galleries and the entire downtown Historic District are within a two block walk. Information on natural history, regional points of interest and self-guided tours and hikes is available across the street at the Visitor's Information Center. Your host will direct your travels to watch elk herds at dusk, visit a ghost town or indian ruin, see the red rocks of Sedona, enjoy old Route 66 or sit by a quiet fishing lake. The wonders of the Grand Canyon, of course, are just an hour away. The stories about Eve, the turn-of the-century ghost are greatly exaggerated.
