With a gorgeous setting in a 19th-century mansion in Midtown, Atlanta's urban and oh-so-gay neighborhood, Stonehurst Place & Carriage House is a chic accommodation destination. The 1896 mansion house is impeccably preserved, yet a careful look reveals that it’s kept pace with the times. Not only are the amenities up to date — especially the oversized bathrooms and the high-end electronics — but the furnishing is contemporary as well, if subtly so.
The three rooms and five suites are spacious and airy, with restored period woodwork and well-chosen antiques. Though the service and amenities are first-rate the appeal of Stonehurst Place comes down to atmosphere — this is an elegant and refined side of Atlanta that’s hard to come by.

Oh my...where to start?!?!
When we arrived, we couldn't believe it! You always hear how great a place is and pictures seem to play a vital role in choosing but let me say, the pictures do absolutely no justice to this place. Caroline, the innkeeper, is a fabulous host and a wonderful cook! She took great care of my boyfriend and I while we were there. He was flying for the first time and needed to relax before taking the trip. She also offered him more advice about flying and the procedures with the airport which helped because he needs much reassurance. We needed serenity and we found it in Stonehurst Place! We loved everything about the house but one of the most impressive amenities was the bathroom. The shower could probably fit my entire high school football team in it...not kidding! I hate to go on and on but trust me...this place is well worth the trip! Great for people of all ages. We are 20 and 23 years of age. To sum it up, we will be back!

From the moment we stepped into Stonehurst Place, my partner and I were transported to a time when luxury and impeccable taste meant something. We were pampered and made to feel special from the moment we were greeted at the door by friendly, extremely competent innkeeper Caroline. A tour of this spectacular home gave us instant affirmation that we made the right lodging choice. Each room is absolutely gorgeously appointed, with no attention to detail left unattended. It's an architectural splendor, with heated marble bathroom floors, multi-head steam shower, luxurious towels and fresh-smelling bedding (Gable's Suite where we were guests). Morning breakfast is as tasty and filling as Stonehurst Place itself. A definite must for the discerning traveler!

Stonehurst Place was one of the most pleasant experiences I've ever had at a B & B. The staff was helpful in making the reservation and taking payment. I felt very well taken care of while staying there. Service was outstanding, friendly and professional. It made me feel comfortable and at home immediately. The innkeeper Trenell was knowledgeable about local restaurants and attractions. The breakfasts served were unique and delicious.
Even after a week back from vacation, I am still glowing with contentment, all because of Stonehurst Place.
