The Riverhouse

The Riverhouse - an all season rental, is a small sophisticated english-style shingled cottage, located along the Penobscot River in Orland, Maine.  Completely renovated in 1987, the cottage affords our guests views of the river and bay.  A walk through fields and adjoining shore path leads you to a secluded beach where you can fish, sunbathe, swim or walk for miles. 

Located along Maine's mid coast region, it provides a perfect "place of port" for day excursions.  The many antique shops and fine restaurants in the neighboring towns provide the visitor with many avenues of enjoyment.  Or, you may choose to relax, read or just take a nap in the afternoon sun on the deck surrounded by abundant rose bushes.  Whatever your choice, your visit to this Maine vacation rental property will assuredly be a memorable one.  The Riverhouse caters to those visitors who are accustomed to the conveniences of today's requirements in an atmosphere of comfort and grace.  The two-bedroom cape, furnished in an eclectic style, is meticulously restored to its original New England charm.

The Riverhouse is not appropriate for young children or pets.  In addition, we have a no smoking policy in order to provide a pleasant and fresh environment for our visitors.

Whether you arrive by motorcar, helicopter, seaplane or motorlaunch, the Riverhouse will afford you the simple elegance that New Englanders have come to expect.  We are conveniently located 45 minutes from the Bangor International Airport, 10 minutes from historic Castine, 1 hour from Acadia National Park and the Camden Hills area.  Whatever your mode of transportation, the Riverhouse becomes an easy commute to Maine's mid coast region.
