Fish and swim during summer, ski and snowboard during winter, relax any time of year in scenic Vermont. The "Fletcher 1" cottage on Metcalf Pond, near Smugglers Notch, is a terrific getaway spot. The area is quiet and peaceful in winter, but with a resort-like ambience on hot summer days as other cottage owners and local kids enjopy the lake's attractions.

The "Fletcher 1" cottages is available year round. It is 13 miles from the entrance to Smugglers Notch ski area--and rents for a small fraction of what you you would pay right at the slopes. It is fantastic lodging with all the amenities--your own hot tub, cable TV, wood-burning fireplace (plus a gas-burning fireplace) and much more. Metcalf Pond is a very small scenic lake. It is shallow a long way from shore, safe swimming for kids, and you have your choice of a canoe, kayak, or rowboat to go to the deeper parts to fish for smallmouth bass, northern pike, and other desirable fish. The immediate area offers rural attractions such as horeseback riding, a corn maze, and a nearby winery with frequent tastings. About 35 miles away is Burlington, a college town known for its many cultural attractions, shopping, and restaurants. Montreal is a couple of hours drive--an easy day trip. Our guests often use the cottages as a home base for a vacation that includes visits throughout the area.

The cottage is fully furnished, including sheets, towels, dishes, cookware, even a small amount of food in the fridge suitable for breakfasts.
