Since its inception in 1992, ALSO has provided a support and crisis intervention to our community. The core programming includes a weekly discussion group with trained facilitators, a drop-in center in which we host educational programs dealing with issues faced by today’s GLBTQ youth. We also provide a 24-hour youth contact pager, HIV-AIDS testing and education, presentations to local agencies which provide services to youth, meeting with school officials to encourage the establishment of GSA’s and other relevant programs, and a variety of social events including dances and parties.
