Our logo sums it up in three words -- Care, Prevention, and Advocacy.
CARE -- From our 3.5 acre campus in Palm Springs, clients can:
PREVENTION-- Although recent California state budget cuts have severely curtailed our education outreach efforts, D.A.P. is as committed as ever to helping stop the spread of HIV in the Coachella Valley where the rate of infection is 400% greater than the national average. Our committed staff of volunteers continues to help us provide FREE AND CONFIDENTIAL testing six days a week at locations throughout the desert cities. See the bottom of every page on D.A.P.'s website for addresses and hours.
ADVOCACY -- D.A.P. serves the needs of a diverse client base that is often made to feel disenfranchised from the larger public. Without our services, many people might disappear into a world of poverty, discrimination, and isolation because of the stigma that often accompanies HIV and AIDS. Like us on Facebook to become an AIDS advocate!
Without our donors and volunteers we couldn't do any of this. As Desert AIDS Project continues to strive to become fiscally self-sustaining, we are so grateful to our nearly 400 volunteers who contributed 60,000 hours of their time in 2008! Many of those provide the staffing at our five Revivals stores that contributes nearly one-quarter of our annual revenue. Our heartfelt thanks!
