The Florida Keys Eco-Discovery Center features over 6400 square feet of interactive and dynamic exhibits, including a mock-up of Aquarius, the world's only underwater ocean laboratory.
The Eco-Discovery Center's mission is to increase awareness for the need to preserve and protect the beautiful ecosystems of the Florida Keys so that future generations can also enjoy this beautiful place.
Once inside, numerous exhibits interpret the ecology of Keys' habitats-from the upland pinelands through the hardwood hammock and beach dunes, down to the mangrove shoreline, where the visitor enters the sea to learn about the seagrass flats, hardbottom, coral reef and deep shelf communities.
The Center also features a fabulous 20-minute high-definition film, computer interactive exhibits, murals, graphic displays with text and images, a live weather station and life-size replicas of Florida Keys habitats. The newest exhibit is the Mote Marine Laboratory Living Reef, with a 2,500-gallon reef tank and displays showing some of the ongoing Sanctuary restoration efforts.
An on-site gift shop features fun and unique items such as books, games, and DVDs. Net proceeds from the sale of products return to the Center to support educational programs.

We are located at the end of Southard Street in Truman Annex in Key West, across the street from Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park.
Directions
Take U. S. 1 south, turn right on North Roosevelt Blvd., continue on Roosevelt and it will turn into Truman Avenue, stay on Truman Ave. and take a right on Whitehead Street, take a left on Southard Street, go straight until you see the Complex on the right.
