Stanford Inn by the Sea

Mendocino’s premier eco-resort: Small, romantic, set in USDA certified organic gardens overlooking Mendocino Bay, The Stanford Inn sits atop a meadow overlooking the gardens, Mendocino Bay and the Pacific. Accommodations are paneled in natural wood and furnished with amenities from wood burning fireplaces and antiques to sofas, HDTV DirecTV and VCRs and DVD players and compact CD – Ipod systems.

The Inn offers complimentary breakfasts featuring a choice from their extensive menu of organic omelets, waffles, burritos, and more. At “Afternoons at the Inn” guests may sample vegan desserts with coffee or tea. The Ravens’ Nest offers an award winning selection of wines and full bar featuring organic cocktails and beers from local microbreweries.

The Ravens, the Inn’s nationally acclaimed restaurant serves organic cuisine. Dinner features gourmet vegetarian/vegan dishes including signature Sea Palm Strudel and Chocolate Tort.

A large pool with sauna and spa are protected from the fog by a solarium. The Mendocino Center for Living Well offers daily yoga as well as a Chinese Herbal pharmacy, acupuncture and community acupuncture clinics, and massage at Massage in the Forest. Special programs include vegan culinary classes, nutritional seminars, and garden programs. The Stanford's popular nature program features foraging hikes and natural ecology seminars. Depending on the season, guests may elect to forage for mushrooms, seaweeds or edible native plants. They learn about the different plants' nutritive and medicinal values, how they taste and how to prepare or preserve them.

Mendocino's first pet friendly Inn, pets are allowed throughout the Inn except the pool and dining room.
