EVOLVE Adoption & Family Services

EVOLVE was founded by a diverse group of community professionals and adoptive parents who were committed to eliminating the barriers that kept loving people from becoming parents (such as age, weight, marital status, family configuration). HOPE is licensed to serve children and families in Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin. Since 1978, HOPE has brought more than 1,850 children into loving families.

Our name, HOPE, means Helping Others with a Personal Emphasis. We exist to unite children with families through adoption. By providing high quality information, counseling, and support services throughout the family life cycle, HOPE strengthens families, prospective parents, and related individuals. EVOLVE will be an advocate for all clients, including the adopted person, birth parents, and adoptive family, considering their needs and best interests.

For children unable to grow up in their original family, EVOLVE finds permanent families who will give them the love and guidance so critical to their future success. Creating families is a huge task! We do it, one family at a time, by:

• Recruiting and preparing prospective adoptive parents to be culturally competent
• Preparing older foster care children for successful transition into adoptive families
• Giving foster care adoptees a voice to advocate for change in the foster care and adoption system that they experienced
• Arranging adoption of orphans from third world countries who may not otherwise survive childhood
• Helping young women experiencing unplanned pregnancy make good decisions about the future of their babies
• Strengthening the families we create through ongoing support services
• Enriching the community by providing low-cost educational opportunities about adoptive parenting and advocating for sound adoption policies.
