Greater Boston PFLAG

Greater Boston PFLAG

The Greater Boston Chapter of  PFLAG (Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) is working to change attitudes and create an environment of understanding so that our gay family members and friends can live in a world that is safe, supportive, and inclusive.

We save lives and keep families together by fostering open dialogue between LGBT youth and their families. Through support, education, and advocacy, we strive to help:

  • LGBT youth to feel safe, welcome, and included in their schools and families,
  • Parents to understand and love their children just the way they are,
  • Students and teachers to address anti-gay language and bullying,
  • Allies to take a stand against violence, anti-gay language and bullying,
  • LGBT people to be vocal and visible.

Our main programs are our monthly support groups in several towns throughout Massachusetts, One-to-One Parent Support, our Safe Schools Program to educate and inspire students, adminstrators, and faculty in middle and high schools to stop anti-gay language and bullying, our Workplace Outreach which provides speakers to create safe and welcoming workplaces for LGBT employees, and our speakers bureau to provide youth and adult speakers for community, workplace, and religious organizations.
