My name is Rick Rutledge, and I am an attorney in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. This is my web site, and it is here to tell you a little about me, and about my practice. Because I am based in Winston-Salem, my practice focuses on serving the people of Forsyth County, and (where it makes sense for you and me) the neighboring counties of Davidson, Davie, Guilford, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry, and Yadkin.
My practice is a general law practice, and I am currently licensed to practice in North Carolina, including the federal courts that are local to me. While some lawyers specialize in a particular area of law, I have found that I am interested in a great many areas of the law. My focus is more on how the law affects people - individuals, families, and the small businesses that make up the backbone of the American economy. I strive to stay current on the areas of law that are most likely to affect those people and businesses. See the page on practice areas for more detail on these areas where I concentrate my efforts.
As a gay man, I strive to keep current on issues of particular importance to the gay, lesbian, and transgender communities, as well as helping the gay community to use the law for their benefit and protection.
