Lesbian and Gay Child Care Task Force

The Lesbian and Gay Child Care Task Forcebegan in 1996 to address the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender parents, guardians, educators and their children. We hold the vision that children of all ages, ethnicities, genders and identities flourish in self-discovery, relationship building and character development to be themselves. Our mission is to join others in creating environments that welcome, affirm and support all families and children.

The Lesbian and Gay Child Care Task Force has developed many resources to support parents, teachers, caregivers and administrators in their work to build welcoming environments for LGBTQ families and all families.

We provide

• RESOURCES to support teachers and programs.
• TRAINING for teams and staff.
• INFORMATION for families about gay welcoming child care programs.
• ADVOCACY AND SUPPORT for families and teachers regarding LGBTQ issues and concerns.
• STARS training to support teachers and providers in reducing homophobia.
