Tim Brewer is one of the few Oregon attorneys whose practice is largely limited to assisted reproduction ("ARTs") and adoption law. He provides caring and knowledgeable legal representation and guidance to adopting parents, birth parents, intended parents, surrogates, donors and gestational carriers in a wide array of adoption and assisted reproduction settings. He works collaboratively with other attorneys and ARTs and adoption professionals throughout the U.S. to help create families, and to guide clients through the legal thicket that can accompany adoption and third party reproduction. In the ARTs setting, Tim has helped pioneer Oregon parentage procedures that provide an economical legal alternative to a full adoption. He has organized, chaired, and presented at adoption- and surrogacy-related seminars for lawyers, hospitals, adoption service providers, social workers, and surrogates. He was a co-chair of the 2009 annual conference for the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys, held in Portland, Oregon.
Tim Brewer is a member of several state, local, and national bar associations and organizations, including the Oregon State Bar Standing Committee on Adoption. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys ("///A"), an invitation-onlyorganization of attorneys throughout the U.S. and Canada who have distinguished themselves in the field of adoption and family formation law. He is a charter member of the American Academy of Assisted Reproductive Technology Attorneys ("AAARTA"), a speciality division of "///A", created in May 2009. Mr. Brewer has served on state-wide committees focused on revising adoption-related laws and administrative rules.
