Yorkshire MESMAC

Yorkshire MESMAC is one of the oldest and largest sexual health organisations in the country. Our historical focus is HIV prevention and sexual health promotion with Gay, Bisexual and men who have sex with men. Additionally our Community Development approach means that we are concerned with the wider Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) health, social and equity agendas.

We are proud of our strong roots in West and North Yorkshire with bases in Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, York and Scarborough; and of our contribution to the sector nationally and internationally through research, skill sharing, partnership work and policy development.

Yorkshire MESMAC group of services include:

  • Testing Times which is a community testing service providing free rapid HIV tests, Chlamydia & Gonorrhea pee in a pot screenings and Hepatitis B vaccinations
  • The BLAST Project working with young men and boys vulnerable to abuse and sexual exploitation
  • Begin and Our HIV support agencies in Wakefield and Bradford
  • Gay affirmative Counselling services
  • LGBT youth groups in Wakefield, Bradford and North Yorkshire
