Shaashawn “The Voyce” Dial is as unique as her birth name. Nicknamed "The Voyce" by the poetic community for her alto voice and rhythmic delivery she personifies openness and passion. She is an award winning radio broadcaster (former south central PA local producer of the Tom Joyner Morning Show), seasoned public relations professional, passionate poet, engaging workshop facilitator/public speaker, multi-sensory professor and edu-taining mistress of ceremonies. She released her first spoken word CD titled VOYCEMAIL January 30, 2010, after performing in numerous venues from New York to Washington, D.C to Ohio for 11 years. She was most recently published in HER VOICE, a poetry collection presented by Lesbian Memoirs.
Shaashawn credits her passion for word massaging to her "army brat" upbringing - born on German soil followed by moves to California, New York, Chicago, Virginia, Korea, Missouri and Pennsylvania to name a few. Her greatest three triumphs include: studying in Oxford, England; the creation and launch of her radio show THE SHAASHAWN DIAL SHOW: A DIAL MOVEMENT; and co-founding Studs Magazine, the publication that celebrates the Handsomely Beautiful Women - self identified masculine women within the same gender loving (sgl) community.
Shaashawn is the creator of fifteen original workshops spanning topics of multiculturalism in the workplace, leadership, self development, female empowerment, and growth/advocacy for the same gender loving community (lgbtqi - lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgendered, queer, and intersexed).
Her greatest passion is creating outlets for all persons to discover their voice. To Shaashawn, “voice” is the tool for which people take holistic ownership of their mental, physical, spiritual, and economic health. Shaashawn strives to exercise her own voice to inspire those who have lost their voice to re-discover it; and to aid those who do not think they have a voice – to find it.
