aMaze - creators of the Families All Matter Book Project provide curricula and trainings that help children learn respect across differences and advocate for self and others. By reaching children at a young age, we know that teasing, bullying and exclusion don't have to be a natural part of childhood.
Our award winning, literacy based programs are used in early childhood and elementary schools, faith based organizations and after-school programs around the country. We help organizations create a climate that welcomes ALL children and families and prevents bullying and bias-based behaviors.
Ours approach to anti-bias education is broad-based, presenting a wealth of differences through the common lens of family, and is the only curricula widely used in schools that includes gay and lesbian family members. Through high quality children's literature and guided discussions, we offer a window/mirrors approach - giving children a clear view into the lives of other families and, for many the first reflection of their own family in a classroom setting.
Used by classroom teachers, parent/guardian volunteers, social workers, religious educators, after-school personnel, and aides - our programs support those very important conversations that allow children to develop empathy, understanding, and the skills needed to stand up to bias - for themselves and others.
