Scott E. Knox is a lawyer whose practice has an emphasis in the areas of disability, probate, estate planning, gay/lesbian/transgender issues, and HIV/AIDS legal matters.
He has argued successfully before the Ohio Supreme Court supporting the rights of same-gender parents and transsexuals.
He is currently on the boards of Equality Cincinnati gay rights organization; the Hamilton County Continuum of Care for the Homeless, which develops and implements the homeless assistance system for Cincinnati and Hamilton County, Ohio; and the Ohio State Bar Association Pro Bono Taskforce Committee, 1st Judicial District, which provides pro bono legal services to those who can’t afford those services.
Scott has been honored to have received the Community Service Award from the Cincinnati Bar Association, the Tom Zeitz Memorial Award from AIDS Volunteers of Cincinnati, the Greater Cincinnati Human Rights Campaign Leadership Award, and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine's Certificate of Outstanding Community Service in recognition of legal work he has done for people with HIV. He was named one of Lawyers Weekly U.S.A.’s ten national Attorneys of the Year for 2002.
